CostaBaja Resort & Spa, the first five-star resort in La Paz, Mexico, is set to open November 13, and will be the centerpiece of the 220-acre Costa Baja development. In addition to the new hotel, CostaBaja will be opening a new Gary Player-designed golf course November 7. CostaBaja Resort & Spa is just 10 minutes north of downtown La Paz, the capital of Baja California Sur. The resort is set on the Sea of Cortez overlooking a 250-slip double-basin marina and white sand beaches. Rates start at $149.
The 115-room property will offer ocean, mountain, golf course and marina views. In-room features include 42-inch flat-screen televisions, glass-enclosed showers, and dark mahogany wood finishes to contrast the bright surroundings and will also be home to the first spa in La Paz, two signature restaurants, two pools and a beach club. The property will include a 2,477-square-foot ballroom that can also be divided for smaller functions.
“Grand Heritage is pleased to make CostaBaja Resort & Spa our first property in Mexico,” said John W. Cullen, III, President of Maryland-based Grand Heritage Hotels. “We are excited to bring a new level of service and hospitality to the destination of La Paz and we look forward to welcoming guests to the Gateway to the Sea of Cortez.”
“We are thrilled to be partnering with Grand Heritage Hotels for CostaBaja Resort & Spa,” said Alejandro Yberri, CEO of CostaBaja. “They bring a proven track record of operating some of the greatest resorts in the world with a commitment to quality.”
