Tourism Ireland has has announced the launch of the new Aer Lingus non-stop service between Washington Dulles and Dublin airport.

Aer Lingus will operate four flights per week from Washington D.C. to Dublin as part of its transatlantic growth plan in 2015. This is the airline’s seventh North American transatlantic gateway.

The airline is also increasing capacity on other Aer Lingus transatlantic routes for summer 2015, including:

*a daily flight from San Francisco to Dublin
*the introduction of a third daily flight from New York to Dublin from June through August
*an increase in frequency on the Orlando to Dublin route from three to four flights per week
*a 20% increase in capacity on the Boston Shannon route for twelve weeks in the peak summer period, June through August

“We are delighted that Aer Lingus has chosen to bring this new service from Washington to Dublin,” said Alison Metcalfe, Executive Vice President, Tourism Ireland US and Canada. “This route will further strengthen the tremendous air access links between the US and Ireland and I would encourage our friends from the DC area and beyond to include Ireland on their vacation calendars for 2015.”

Nonstop flights from Dublin to D.C offer fliers the added convenience of clearing customs and immigration pre-departure, enabling more efficient connections and a streamlined arrival process at Dulles. More than 1.2 million people from the US and Canada visited Ireland in 2014.

Aer Lingus recently launched its new business class experience on its transatlantic flights. The service provides a unique differentiator and will ensure that customers experience the best of smart travel with high levels of comfort and sophistication.
