Malta Tourism Authority CEO Paul Bugeja

The Malta Tourism Authority (MTA) Board confirmed the appointment of Paul Bugeja, former president of the Malta Hotels and Restaurants Association, as its new CEO effective September 16, 2014.

Mr Bugeja has held senior positions within the Corinthia Group for the past 35 years. In recent years he was director in the group’s Hotel Monitoring Board.

“I now look forward to a new chapter in my life and will be dedicating all my energy and experience acquired in the private industry in search of opportunities that may already exist or will be created in the future to improve the tourism sector, a sector which we all agree is crucial to our Maltese Islands,” said Mr. Bugeja.

Bugeja will be replacing outgoing CEO Josef Formosa Gauci, who resigned after six years at the helm of the tourism authority.
