Auberge du Soleil, the landmark Napa Valley inn, unveiled the next phase of its design evolution in Maison Saint-Tropez, a collection of eight glamorously redesigned rooms, in May. An encore to the recently unveiled Maison Calais La Plage, the newly enhanced rooms take their inspiration from the South of France.

“Auberge du Soleil is a seductive retreat and a playground in the very best sense,” said George Goeggel, Managing Partner of Auberge du Soleil. “Maison Saint-Tropez was inspired by the glamorous and free-spirited lifestyle of the French Riviera, where life revolves around the sun and soul, and interior spaces are sophisticated and sensual. The new look updates the Auberge’s iconic interiors with a fresh, contemporary sensibility.”

Inspired by the sun-drenched South of France, the new eight-room Maison Saint-Tropez features clean architectural lines that blend French detail with relaxed California style. Slate-inspired roofs, low-profile steel French doors and expansive terraces featuring ipe wood trellises give the new maison a light, contemporary character.

Each bedroom features dramatic custom-designed, hand-carved wooden headboards that extend to ceiling above the California king beds, creating an artistic and striking visual anchor to the room.

Suites feature outdoor soaking tubs and showers, while private terraces showcase lounge chairs, ottomans and dining tables that afford guests sweeping hillside views of the valley. Skylights drench spa-like bathrooms with natural light, highlighting oversized sculptural soaking tubs, spacious showers and heated limestone floors.

The rooms were designed by Suzanne Tucker of Tucker & Marks, Inc., San Francisco.
