With a new menu designed by Executive Chef Daniel Padró, the celebration of the fourth anniversary of restaurant 1621 from Sofitel Legend Santa Clara begins this month. It has been four years full of the best gastronomic experiences, which have been conveyed to those who have visited that place every night, which 400 years ago was the dining room of The Clarisses.

For the Restaurant Manager, Christophe Tessier, there are several strengths that have managed to position this restaurant as one of the best.

“The innovation in the concept, the personalized service we offer, the show of several dishes that are cooked in sight of customers like the fish tartar, besides from the bread, cheese, dessert, wine and coffee rituals which have become unforgettable experiences” explained Tessier.

One of the best qualities of Restaurant 1621 is, undoubtedly, its wine cellar and the sommelier Oscar Santos, who have won the Wine Spectator Cup for two years in a row, which grants a certificate of excellence to the great selection of wines, categorizing it as one of the best in the world. Every night, Oscar is attentive to the smallest requirements from the customers, with the sole purpose to promote and preserve a culture of wine in the city. Thanks to his devotion, he has just been chosen as the representative for the Caribbean Region in the Colombian Association of Sommeliers.

The great celebration of the fourth anniversary of the restaurant will be in charge of the Executive Chef Daniel Padró, who will introduce and launch the new menu of the restaurant, surprising with all his ingenuity and skillfulness to show us creative dishes in his very style, but at the same time taking care of our essence of combining the French techniques and the local products. Thus, Restaurant “1621” is still a space offered by Sofitel Legend Santa Clara to the city of Cartagena and its visitors with innovative proposals, keeping the French traditional “l´art de recevoir” (the art of receiving), with the best of Colombia.
