Swiss International Air Lines subsidiary Swiss European Air Lines is changing its name to Swiss Global Air Lines, and will operate under the SWISS brand.

The Avro RJ100 operator said the renaming had been prompted by the planned integration of new Boeing 777-300ERs into the SWISS aircraft fleet.

Swiss says that once the corresponding commercial and operating licences have been duly amended by the Swiss Federal Office of Civil Aviation (FOCA), the byline “Operated by Swiss European Air Lines” will be gradually replaced with “Operated by Swiss Global Air Lines” in flight booking applications and on the aircraft themselves.
