Hotel-SaintBarth-Isle-de-France

Cheval Blanc St-Barth Isle de France offers little ones the chance to become aqua adventurers, learn about the deep blue sea with the help of the Maison’s resident mermaid, and capture fairy-tale scenes under the supervision of an award-winning artist.

On Baie des Flamands – one of the island’s finest beaches – Cheval Blanc St-Barth Isle de France is home to 40 suites, bungalows and villas and La Case de L’Isle, one of St Barth’s hottest dining destinations.

Younger guests can swim with Amaryllis the mermaid, and learn about the marine environment. Water babies set off equipped with flippers, mask and snorkel, to explore the underwater world of the Caribbean Sea. With the guidance of an instructor, kids will tickle sea turtles, look for star fish, or play around with stripy clown fish followed by an appearance of Amaryllis the mermaid coming to play along the waves. After the chance to meet and learn about the marine environment from a real-life mermaid, mini-swimmers can retreat to the beach for a picnic prepared by Chef Yann Vinsot.

For those with an artistic flare, two hours with painter Kate Kova will coax even the most reluctant Picasso out of their shell. Looking like a true artist, equipped with easel and palette, budding-Monets will create their very own masterpieces inspired by the Maison’s tropical setting. Kids will receive their own painting kit to continue creating art throughout their stay and take home as a souvenir. * available for children over 4 years.

Biking tours of the island and hopping aboard the infamous Yellow Submarine are great activities to pursue after a delicious breakfast. Afternoon swims and snorkels with turtles, psychedelic fish and friendly baby sharks are captured in film and video for everlasting family memories. And of course, no day would be complete without a delicious feet-in-the-sand seaside lunch at the Case de l’Isle.

Fearless young adventurers can also enjoy horseback riding above the white sands of Gouverneur Beach, or channel their inner Caribbean pirate at The Fort Carl overlooking Shell Beach, Gustavia. Families will find sanctuary within the cocooning gardens of the Maison itself, and on the beautiful Flamands Bay. Parents will feel at ease as their little ones paddle in the shallows, enjoying the clear, turquoise waters or building powder-white sand castles.

At home, the Maison offers bespoke Baudou baby cots, with exclusively designed sheets, as well as a Bugaboo Chameleon designed for walking comfortably on sandy beaches and island paths. Bespoke baby purées, special children’s menus, comfortable rattan highchairs, Baudou bibs and special baby tableware ensure meal times are exceptional for the whole family. Each room provides child-size bathrobes, beach towels, flip flops and slippers to ensure kids always look the part before snuggling up with their very own soft toy horse in the Maison’s colours for an afternoon siesta.
