Context has its first destination in South America – Buenos Aires, the vibrant capital of Argentina. Working with local historians and experts, Context opens with a variety of innovative tours to help travelers understand and appreciate the city’s culturally rich history.

Context’s offerings start with five different walks. Tango, led by actual dancers, shows visitors an insider view to this fascinating world, starting with its origins in the working class La Boca district and touring the best historic current dancehalls and cafés, in addition to artisanal shops and other sites linked to this art form. The Making of Argentina, debarking at the port where newcomers arrived, goes back a century to the great immigration wave and the challenges of the creation of a nation. Around the same time as the city was booming, Belle Epoque Buenos Aires, discovers the architectural side of this Golden Age of Argentina. Whereas Evita and Peronism focuses in on one of the country’s most emblematic figures Eva Peron, delving into her life, political and sociological influence. Lastly, Welcome to Buenos Aires, part of Context’s orientation series, allows visitors to learn to navigate the city like a local in the company of a real Porteño.

“We are very excited to be able to offer inquisitive travelers unique experiences in South America,” says Lily Heise, Context’s Expansion Manager. “After launching in Asia in 2012, our clients started asking for more destinations further afield, Buenos Aires was a natural extension of our in-depth city explorations and the first of several to come on the continent.”

Launched in mid-September, walks are available both privately on request and as regularly scheduled shared group walks. Private walks will start at $250 for the party, and group walks from $60 per person.
