Lorine Charles-St. Jules was the only West Indian honoree among a short and distinguished list of women from around the world, recognized by the Society of Foreign Consuls on the occasion of International Women Day, observed on March 8, 2012.

In highlighting her contributions to the advancement of tourism, the Society noted that Charles-St. Jules was a “Phenomenal woman and true daughter of Saint Lucia , whose continued pursuit of opportunities to promote her island as a premier vacation destination was unmatched.”

Based in the New York metro area, Lorine Charles-St. Jules leads the marketing, public relations and sales drive for the Saint Lucia Tourist Board in the Northeastern and West coast, USA. In her line of work at the Saint Lucia Tourist Board, Charles-St. Jules has developed deep relationships with trade organizations and travel media representatives across North America, and has served on many industry boards including Area of  Westchester Travel Agents, Long Island Travel Association, Caribbean Tourism Organization regional Chapters and Travel Agents of Brooklyn and Staten Island . Saint Lucia Tourism Director Louis Lewis added his praise to Charles-St. Jules’ efforts and noted that, “Her long standing contributions are testament to the hard work, dedication and caliber of staff that oversee the vital business of tourism for Saint Lucia, be it on or off-island.”

Charles-St. Jules maintains an active involvement in tourism education and is a guest lecturer at University of New Haven in Connecticut and New York University (NYU) in New York. She has led many media, consumer and trade programs for Saint Lucia resulting in increased visibility and brand awareness and numerous coveted destination awards such as Caribbean Destination of the Year, Sexiest Honeymoon Destination and World’s Leading Honeymoon Destination.
