Phulay Bay, A Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Krabi, Thailand, has announced the appointment of Carlos Tarrero as the General Manager of Phulay Bay, the first property in the Reserve collection. Carlos previously held the title of Director of Operations at Phulay Bay after joining the property in June of 2012.
A native of Spain, Carlos studied Tourism & Business Management with a specialty in luxury hotels at the Universidad de Deusto in Bilbao, Spain. Carlos then moved to the United Kingdom in 1998 to begin his career with Le Meridien Hotels and Resorts as the Guest Relations Manager. He has since assisted and led numerous properties including Le Parker Meriden in New York City, Gran Hotel Domine in Bilbao, Spain, The Ritz London in the United Kingdom, and The Legian Bali.
“I chose a career in luxury hotel management because I enjoyed the challenges and complexity of the operations surrounding high profile guests, which continues to motivate and inspire me,” said General Manager Carlos Tarrero. “During my time in hotel management, I discovered a whole world of possibilities and decided that I wanted more. This led me to move to Krabi, Thailand to join Phulay Bay, A Ritz-Carlton Reserve.
