The resort has installed one wind turbine (one of only two in Zanzibar), solar water heaters on each villa, solar panels and their own desalinization plant. Fruits and vegetables used in White Sand’s kitchen are grown in their own bio garden, complimented by the unique “green wall” of plants lining the fine dining restaurant space, and the resort features its own kitesurfing shop.

To celebrate the grand opening month, travelers can save 30 percent when visiting in June, with villa rates starting at US $490 per night in a one bedroom, including breakfast.
