The Tryall Club, the luxury private golf club in Montego Bay, Jamaica, has announced the opening of The Spa at Tryall. Officially welcoming guests on January 16th, 2024, the spa encourages a holistic approach to wellness with a plethora of bespoke treatments and fitness offerings, including sound therapy, yoga meditation, massage treatments, guided breathing, and more.

Located on Mahogany Drive near the northeast edge of the 2,200-acre property, The Spa at Tryall was created by The Tryall Club to enhance the guests’ experience with therapeutic wellness.

“From the lush forests and serene beachside to the laid-back culture, Jamaica naturally evokes a sense of serenity and relaxation,” said spa creator Leesa Jones, who was appointed to lead the project, bringing over two decades of exclusive spa experience to the club. “By working with local partners, including a Jamaican architect, we are proud to bring that energy to our guests who visit The Spa at Tryall through distinctive new treatments, sounds, and style.”

As envisioned by local architect Nancy Maffessanti, who worked with her father to design and build the original resort back in the late 1950s, the treatment rooms offer a tranquil feel with traditional Jamaican design. Incorporating local artisanship into the spa’s design, the treatment sinks, meticulously hand-molded and adding an organic finish to the room, were crafted by local potter David Pintom. The vibrant array of prints adorning the space were thoughtfully curated by Jamaican artist Patrick Waldemar, and the spa cabinetry, tailored to a classically Jamaican aesthetic, was skillfully constructed by a Jamaican carpenter using locally sourced Cedar and bamboo from Cue Park. The colorful art and touches of The Spa at Tryall are inspired by the colors of the seven chakra energy points of the body as recognized in yoga and healing traditions.

The spaces include: ‘Hol a Medz’ the patois name for the Spas’ yoga, meditation, energy, and sound therapy room, there are two spacious couples’ treatment rooms, two individual treatment rooms, a manicure and pedicure salon & hair salon. Outdoors, The Spa at Tryall invites guess to a shaded terrace named ‘Idle a While’ with comfortable furnishings and a pool surrounded by loungers, sun-shielding umbrellas, and views of the rolling rain forest hills and flora of the property.

The Spa at Tryall offers many products with ingredients found in Jamaica including juice shots mixed with seasonal fruits; local teas infused with ginger, lemongrass, and lime; and a cacao drink of the finest ceremonial cacao from the Blue Mountains, infused with pimento and cinnamon. The spa will also source herbs from its own on-site organic garden for treatments and beverages.

The Spa at Tryall is open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. To make reservations at The Tryall Club, call 800.238.5290 or email spa@tryallclub.com. For more information, including the full list of treatments and products, visit www.tryallclub.com/spa-in-jamaica/.
