The End of the World Marathon is not only about running and fun in sunny and beautiful Belize, but also about giving back to the community. The proceeds raised goes towards high school scholarships for children on the Placencia Peninsula.

This year, the fourth annual “End of the World Marathon” is scheduled for December 6th in picturesque Placencia, a town nestled up against the beaches and azure waters of the Caribbean Sea in Southern Belize.

Chabil Mar is gearing up for this event by offering a special vacation package wrapped around the day of the run. Come early or stay late and include a Belize vacation, complete with Maya archaeological expeditions, snorkeling and scuba diving, along with treks in the jungle searching out the famed howler monkey or swimming in waterfalls.

Beginning at the football field at the bottom of the peninsula, the full marathon (26.2 miles) goes through Placencia Village, Seine Bight Village and Maya Beach. The race then loops back a few miles south of Riversdale and ends in the village of Placencia.

The half marathon (13.1 miles) begins at the marathon turnaround and also finishes in Placencia Village. An event all ages can enjoy.
