Zambia Tourism has appointed Geoffrey Weill Associates to establish and develop its public relations and trade representation in North America. The appointment is part of a four-country collaborative effort headed by London’s PC Agency, France’s Group Expression and Germany’s Kleber Group. WEILL will be responsible for promoting authentic and sustainable travel to Zambia in the US market, highlighting the country’s wealth of culture, heritage, adventure, wildlife and MICE offerings.

The focus will be on increasing visitor numbers to the projected target of two million international arrivals for 2024 through a series of campaigns to drive consumer and trade awareness around the world.

Matongo Matamwandi, Chief Executive Officer of Zambia Tourism Agency, said: “We look forward to establishing and redefining Zambia across key markets. We will work together to ensure that key markets are well informed about our heritage, culture and safari offerings, which are unlike anywhere else in the world.”

“WEILL is honored, along with the PC Agency, to have been selected to build the Zambia brand and represent the Zambia Tourism Agency globally for media and trade representation,” says Geoffrey Weill. “Our goal is to showcase Zambia’s extraordinary and insufficiently known offerings, and we are looking forward to supporting the tourism board’s mission to raise the country’s profile substantially, positioning Zambia as a must-visit destination.”

Zambia is home to one of the seven wonders of the natural world, the Victoria Falls, locally known as the Mosi-oa-tunya (“the smoke that thunders”), as well as an abundance of wildlife beyond the big five. Zambia offers unparalleled safari and adventure opportunities. WEILL will underscore Zambia’s centrality in experiencing Victoria Falls, as well as re-establish the destination as the original home of the walking safari, to ensure that Zambia is kept top-of-mind for American travelers to Africa.
