The Korea Grand Sale 2013 will be held in areas most visited by foreigners in Seoul and the metropolitan area as well as Gangwon-do, Jeju and across the country.

The festival aims to foster shopping and tourism by offering foreign visitors discounts and diverse special offers on shopping, lodging, food, beverages, art performances and more. Major department stores, duty-free shops, retail outlets and convenience stores across the country are participating, making this third festival the largest in scale so far, and providing a wide variety of discount benefits and special gifts.

Leading department stores such as Galleria, Lotte, Shinsegae and Hyundai, and duty-free shops such as Dongwha, Lotte, Shilla, Walkerhill and the Korea Tourism Organization will participate. Also, representative shopping malls such as Doota, Hello apM, Gimpo Airport Outlet, and Yeoju & Paju Premium Outlets will join the festival to expand the variety of shopping. In addition, a wide range of benefits, including discounts for major Korean attractions and performances, will also be offered.

An opening ceremony will be followed by various events, including a K-POP concert, Theme Weeks of each participating vendor, and other interactive contents, to promote the participation of foreign tourists and elevate the festive atmosphere. The Visit Korea Committee will be operating a special event stage in Myeong-dong, holding various experience programs, including traditional Korean food tasting and makeup tutorials.

Also, 50 top-class hotels across the country will offer “3+1” or “4+1” benefits following the “One-More-Night Promotion”, where foreign visitors will be provided with a free additional night for their stay. The participating hotels will also offer various discounts on foods and beverages to foreign guests during the Korea Grand Sale period.
