Trade chilly weather and crowded stores for a peaceful and picturesque Christmas on Bermuda at Rosewood Tucker’s Point®, the island’s 240-acre, luxury resort overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, Harrington Sound and Castle Harbour. Boasting beautiful, spring-like weather all Winter long (averaging 65 degrees Fahrenheit), the perfect climate prevails for a round of championship golf, a tennis match, game of croquet, spa retreat, or to simply enjoy the outdoors sans a coat, hat and gloves.

This year Rosewood Tucker’s Point is offering a fourth night free to guests who book a minimum three-night stay from November 1, 2011 – March 31, 2012. Rates start at $395 per person, per night for accommodations, exclusive of taxes and gratuities. With air travel time to Bermuda less than two hours from most East Coast cities and the resort just 10 minutes from the island’s International Airport, Rosewood Tucker’s Point is an easy trip to make.
It’s a trip that also unburdens families from holiday entertaining. Christmas and New Year’s meals will be served at two resort venues: The Point and Beach Club, where traditional Christmas customs (even Santa Claus bearing gifts) will be celebrated. Menus, however, will offer Bermudian flavor from mince pies to Christmas puddings and crackers, sherry trifle, and of course, Cassava pie – the island’s most famous holiday dish made with butter, eggs, vanilla, shredded cassava root, and layered with meat and chicken. Guests can also enjoy local cultural events that go hand in hand with the holiday season – the annual Festival of Lights, Christmas Eve Parade, and lively performances from colorful, feather-adorned Gombey dancers flooding the streets and hotel lobbies.

True to its British heritage, Bermudians also celebrate Boxing Day, the day after Christmas, giving to those less fortunate, sharing leftover cassava pie, turkey and other fare from their Christmas feasts. At Rosewood Tucker’s Point, Boxing Day will be celebrated with more festive good and drink, games for children and an appearance by Gombey dancers.

From Christmas through New Year’s Day, week-long activities and amenities range from wine and cheese tastings to cooking demonstrations, in-room Christmas cookie delivery, Christmas-themed movie screenings for children, and gingerbread house-making. Revelers can ring in the new year with two party options: an evening of cocktails (including champagne and canapés) in Tucker’s Bar, followed by a formal six-course dinner gala (with live music) at The Point, or a more casual night of cocktails at the Beach Club followed by a buffet dinner and entertainment presided over by a DJ.
