The Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association (CHTA) is set to recognize trendsetting member hotels and tourism-related enterprises with its inaugural CHIEF Awards and is seeking nominations recognizing members who implement successful strategies in Business Operations, Sales & Marketing and Sustainable Practices. The top three finalists in each category will be invited to share their best practices at the Caribbean Hospitality Industry Exchange Forum (CHIEF) and recognized at the awards luncheon.

Any person or company can nominate any Caribbean-based person or company for one of the CHIEF Awards, but all nominations will be vetted with the National Hotel Associations. Nominations can be submitted by any CHTA operator, allied member, National Hotel and Tourism Associations, Ministries and Departments of Tourism, travel industry partners (i.e. OTAs, travel intermediaries, trade press, etc.), CHTA Strategic Partners and Sponsors, and the general public.

“Many of our hotels and tourism-related businesses in the region are doing exceptional and innovative work. The CHIEF Awards will recognize them for their achievements but also afford others with the opportunity to learn from these best practices,” said Frank Comito, chief executive officer of CHTA. “It’s all about being better at what we do, becoming more efficient, reducing costs and generating more revenue. The best of the best will share their work at our CHIEF event in October with their colleagues and receive well deserved accolades.”

CHIEF is scheduled October 2-4, 2015 at El Conquistador Resort, A Waldorf Astoria Resort in Puerto Rico.
