Myths and Mountains has announced a once in a lifetime journey to India to celebrate Maha Kumbh Mela, an event that will occur in Allahabad in 2013. A Kumbh Mela is a congregation of millions of sadhus and other Hindu pilgrims who journey to India to seek enlightenment and purification in the holy waters of the Ganges or Godavari Rivers. In 2013, eight travelers will have an opportunity to join Myths and Mountains President, Dr. Antonia Neubauer on a journey to witness Maha Kumbh Mela, a special event and one of the most fascinating mass rituals in existence with ritual bathing in the famed Ganges, chanting, dancing, and religious debates.

The tour focuses on an exploration of the enchanting people and the deep-rooted and profound spirituality of the culture of India. In addition to Maha Kumbh Mela, the trip includes visits to Delhi, Agra, Gwailor, and Khajuraho. Highlights include a tour of Old Town in Delhi, a sunrise and sunset visit to the Taj Mahal in Agra, explorations of the sacred temples at Khajuraho, wildlife viewing at Bandhavgarh National Park, and much more. During Maha Kumbh Mela, guests also have the opportunity to listen to a lecture by noted Indian scholar, Shantum Seth.
