The Kenya Tourism Board has appointed CornerSun Destination Marketing to support their ongoing marketing efforts in the North American market. The United States has become Kenya’s #1 source market for overseas visitors and new non-stop air service on Kenya Airways that started in October 2018 finally provides East Africa’s first direct link between New York and Nairobi.

“The United States has never been more important to Kenya thanks to record tourist arrivals and new nonstop flights between New York-JFK and Nairobi on Kenyan Airways,” said Betty Ichan, Regional Marketing Manager US & Canada for Kenya Tourism Board. She continued, “We are excited to engage CornerSun as our
representative in-market and look forward to working together to bring increased awareness and positivity to Kenya in 2019.”

Renowned for world-class wildlife and multi-faceted cultural offerings, Kenya is East Africa’s economic powerhouse and one of the most visited African destinations from the US seeing 114,507 Americans arrive in 2017. The vision of the Kenya Tourism Board is to be the preferred long haul destination in Africa, for high yield tourists, offering a diversity of authentic experiences by friendly people in a preserved environment.

CornerSun’s responsibilities will begin with executing a multi-city roadshow taking place in Boston December 3, Washington D.C. December 5, and New York City on December 6 bringing 14 suppliers from Kenya to meet with travel advisors and tour operators in the United States. In 2019, projects will include managing a comprehensive co-op marketing campaign, social media campaigns and sales calls in key markets.

“Kenya’s life-changing safari experiences, white sandy beaches, intimate animal encounters, heartthumping cities and 64 national parks and reserves make it one of the most exciting and sought after destinations on the planet,” says CornerSun Managing Director, David DiGregorio.
