Jordi Caralt Coloma is the 2011 winner of the Senses Magazine “Newcomer Hotelier of the Year.” At a prestigious award ceremony at the Corinthia Hotel, London, Snr Caralt also received the Five Diamonds Award from the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences. Hailed as “an outstanding leader and motivator of his team” the founding Director of Spanish-based NH Resorts, itself a division of NH Hoteles, oversees luxury leisure complexes in Spain (including Lanzarote) Italy, Cuba and the Dominican Republic.

“While I have picked up these awards they have been awarded to the whole team at NH Resorts – I am merely their representative here,” commented Snr Caralt. “Together we have created a plan that puts guests first, second and third. We never allow operational issues to get between our guests and the first rate experience they deserve every night at every one of our resorts.”

Jordi Caralt, 39, is a professional chef whose first role in managing a hotel was at the Tryp Peninsula in Cuba, where he met his wife Belen with whom he has three children. From there his career took him to 5 star hotels in Lanzarote and Tenerife before joining NH to look after the Almenara and Sotogrande hotels.
