In its fourth year, Sofitel Cartagena Santa Clara opened its doors to present the latest trends for brides and the Wedding and events planning industries in the Wedding 2012 Showroom Trends, For the very first time the best wedding planners in the world such as Preston Bailey and Marcy Blum were been featured in an academic day, where they presented the latest trends in this industry. The event was be held from May 14th to the 16th in the Santa Clara Hall (Old Chapel).
With the Showroom 2012 Wedding Trends, what Sofitel Cartagena Santa Clara seeks, from its standing point and work in the subject of organizing weddings in the city; is to gather the best professionals the industry has, offering them the tools and solutions in the planning and design of weddings and events.
Juan Pablo Estrada, Head Banquet of Sofitel Santa Cartagena and driving force behind this event, says ; “We have become an important reference point in the trends that have to do with decoration, gastronomy, fashion and style for large and small weddings. Many people involved in this subject such as wedding planners, event organizers and direct clients set an appointment during our showroom with the sole purpose of having elements that will allow them make decisions in their wedding events”.
This year, for the very first time an academic Journal was held that sought to deliver tools for organizers, producers, operators and the event’ industry with workshops and conferences given by international experts and covering subjects such as décor, production, trends and topics for weddings and social events.
One of the guests was Preston Bailey, well known designer and leader in event trends with more than 30 years of experience. He is the author of books such as “Design for Entertaining”, “Fantasy Weddings”, Inspirations” and “Celebrations”. He has offices in New York, Indonesia, and the Middle East. Among his clients are Donald Trump, Ophra Whinfrey, Catherine Zeta Jones, Liza Minelli, and Joan Rivers among others. His creativity has taken him to create weddings and events that are simply spectacular.
Also Marcy Blum coordinator of events and weddings in New York, known for her elegance and ability to visualize the spaces was there. She is the author of wedding planning books like “Wedding planning for dummies” and “Wedding kit for dummies”. She has worked with Billy Joel, Kevin Bacon and Salman Rushdie, among others.
The 2012 Showroom Wedding Trends event started on May 14 with the registration followed on May 15th by the academic sessions. Participants also participated in a workshop outside on the beach and a closing cocktail with a bridal runway hosted in the Santa Clara Hall.
