Sonesta Maho Beach Resort & Casino in Sint Maarten has announced that Armando Pizzuti is its new General Manager, effective immediately. A well-traveled and exemplary hotelier, the new GM brings more than 30 years of experience in hotel and restaurant management in the United States, Italy and Caribbean islands, including Jamaica and Antigua.

“I am thrilled to continue my Caribbean journey with Sonesta Maho Beach Resort & Casino,” Pizzuti says. “Leading the resort team, I aspire to encourage their creativity, inspiration and passion for hospitality. This will be the key component in promoting the overall guest experience.”

As personal recipient of the Prestigious 5 Star Diamond Award, Pizzuti promises to maintain his “Sterling Service” in the hospitality industry in all departments of Sonesta Maho Beach Resort & Casino, ranging from resort upkeep, service and dining, to societal contributions. Most recently Pizzuti served in high-ranking positions for major hotel chains in Montego Bay, Jamaica and Antigua. Notably toward the beginning of his career, he pre-opened and operated a five-million-dollar Italian restaurant at Walt Disney’s Grand Floridian Beach Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.

Pizzuti began his career in 1980 as a maitre’ d for A Touch of Italy in Andover, Kansas. He attended Kansas University studying Business Administration and graduated with an Associate Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management.
