The Affluent Traveler Collection (ATC) recently turned to its membership of luxury travel advisors for answers on the latest spa and wellness travel trends. Based on input received from a survey, the results provide insight on what the demand for spa and wellness vacations are and what today’s luxury traveler looks for when booking one. The following trends were reported:

o The majority of Affluent Traveler Collection travel advisors surveyed are seeing a rise in the demand for spa and wellness vacations in 2013 versus the same time last year.
o Healthy meal choices, in-depth spa treatment menus, a fitness center and on-site yoga and/or pilates classes are the top priorities of travelers seeking a wellness vacation. Options such as nutrition classes, personal training and outdoor activities are in less demand.
o The USA and The Caribbean are amongst the most popular destinations for spa and wellness getaways
o The average spa and wellness vacation lasts 4-7 nights, with clients opting to experience spa vacations most often with their significant other versus friends.
