Swiss International Air Lines has taken first place in the “Best Business Class Catering” category in this year’s Skytrax World Airline Awards. The annual industry distinctions are based on a survey of several million air travelers by the UK-based Skytrax consultancy company.

More than 18 million air travelers from more than 100 countries voted SWISS as having the best Business Class catering. SWISS formally received the distinction during the biennial Farnborough International Airshow in the U.K.

The inflight program focuses on a series of classic Swiss dishes associated with particular Swiss traditions and cultural events.

SWISS is now offering its long-haul First and Business Class travelers light summer meals created by top Chef Alexander Kroll of Zurich’s Widder Hotel. The new menus are part of the company’s latest chapter in their “SWISS Taste of Switzerland” inflight culinary campaign, which highlights accomplished chefs and specialties from the country’s various regions. All dishes onboard are accompanied by a selection of cheeses and wines.

The “Taste of Switzerland” menus are available until the end of August on international flights for SWISS First and SWISS Business passengers departing from Switzerland.
