The Palace boutique hotel in Malta has won the award for Best Design for 5-star hotels with 50–200 rooms, at the International Hotel and Property Awards 2011. Angelo Xuereb, Chairman of AX Holdings, represented the group and The Palace at the ceremony held at L’Hôtel Hermitage in the heart of Monte-Carlo. “Design is very important to The Palace’s spirit. Not only it makes our hotel a one-of-a-kind place to stay but indeed plays a fundamental part in creating the unique atmosphere one breathes with every step taken into it, from our reception, to the rooms, to our restaurants and entertainment areas,” said Xuereb.

The International Hotel and Property Awards are hosted by design et al, a leading interior design magazine in the UK. The Palace achieved this year’s Best Design Award by overcoming strong competition from some of the world’s premier hotels. The International Hotel and Property Awards are judged not by a panel but online, where short-listed entries are presented and voting is open to industry professionals as well as readers, clients and customers.

Vibrant and attractive, The Palace is a deluxe 5-star city hotel in Sliema with distinctive elegance, renowned for the infusion of its genuine hospitality, the charms of an intimate and comfortable environment, and the luxurious and cosmopolitan vibe of the ‘big city.’

All this and more create “The Palace Experience.” Along with adjoining Palazzo Capua, The Palace offers the only Concept Suites in Malta—an experience a world apart from other suites. Both hotels along with The Victoria Hotel, the Sunny Coast and the Seashells Resort at Suncrest are part of AX Hotels’ portfolio.
