The brand-new, 200-room Magdalena Grand Beach Resort on Tobago had a soft opening on December 15, 2011 and welcomed the New Year with a 15% discount on all reservations for travel by April 14, 2012. In addition, to celebrate the grand opening the resort is paying a 12% travel agent commission on all bookings made by June 30, 2012.

The Magdalena Grand Beach Resort is situated on the 750-acre Tobago Plantations Estate, a gated community of luxury villas, condos and bungalows. The property offers 178 deluxe ocean front king and double-double rooms plus 22 one- and two-bedroom suites with personal Jacuzzis. All rooms have large terraces or balconies.

All of the resort’s rooms feature marble bathrooms with both shower and tub; deluxe toiletries, bathrobes and slippers; pure cotton linens; central air conditioning; ceiling fan; iron and ironing board; salon hair dryer; mini refrigerator; in-room coffee/tea maker; in-room safe; High Definition flat screen I.P. televisions with satellite programming; complimentary wireless Internet access; and I.P. telephones.

The Magdalena Grand Beach Resort features three room categories – deluxe room, one-bedroom suite and two-bedroom suite. Rates for guests staying in a deluxe room are $330 per room, per night ($280.50 with the 15% discount), based on double occupancy, now through April 14, 2012 and $270 per room, per night, April 15 – December 18, 2012. A one bedroom suite (which can accommodate up to six people with two double beds and two in the parlor on a pullout sofa bed) is $619 per room, per night ($526.15 with the 15% discount), now through April 14, 2012 and $516 per night, per night, April 15 – December 18, 2012. The resort’s two-bedroom suite (accommodating up to 10 people with two double beds in each room and two in the parlor on a pullout sofa bed) is $949 per room, per night ($806.65 with the 15% discount), now through April 14, 2012 and $785 per room, per night, April 15 – December 18, 2012. The rate for an additional person sharing a room is $61.50 per night, year-round. All rates quoted are based on double occupancy and include cooked breakfast, government taxes and 10% service charge. One child up to 12 years of age is free of charge when sharing a room with two full-rate paying adults.

The resort offers a full range of facilities and activities including three swimming pools – one adults-only and one free-form pool; a diving center with a training pool; an 18-hole PGA-designed Championship golf course; pitching and putting greens; driving range; day and nighttime tennis; and daily guest activities program. Guests can rent bicycles as well as arrange a variety of off-property excursions.

The resort’s complimentary Club Cee Cee Kid’s Club is available to children four to 12 years old. Younger guests under four years of age are able to attend with a parent or adult. Club Cee Cee features arts and crafts, movies, a library, board games, a nature learning center and computer/technology area. Outdoor activities are also available.

The Magdalena Grand Beach Resort offers seven restaurants and casual dining options including the Pembrois Buffet, the resort’s main restaurant; Kali’na fine dining restaurant; Robinson Crusoe Pub; Tavaco Lounge Piano Bar (situated in the lobby); Salaka Grill, a poolside and beachfront grill; Benné Café, a gourmet pastry shop and café; and Li’l Nylon Pool, a swim-up pool bar.

Guests can choose from two meal plan options which are added on to the cost of a nightly stay. The Modified American Plan (MAP) is $65 per person, per night (tax and service charges included) and includes breakfast and dinner. The Full American Plan (FAP) is $100 per person, per night (tax and service charges included) and includes three meals daily. Children up to 12 years of age receive a 50% discount on the meal plan options from the adult price.

Located on Tobago, a 20-minute flight from Trinidad, the resort is a 15-minute drive from A.N.R Robinson International Airport.
