According to the most recent Trans-Atlantic report overall trans-Atlantic traffic surged in December, with leading carriers reporting an average 5.3-percent increase in RPMs, while average capacity was up 5.1 percent and average load factor was at 81.8. The December increase followed two months of virtually no growth. For all of 2011, leading-carrier trans-Atlantic traffic was up 4.4 percent, capacity was up 5.6 percent and the overall load factor for the year was an impressive 82.4.
