Pure Grenada, the Spice Caribbean is continuing to improve its cruise guest experience at its main port of entry. On Thursday February 28, eight (8) experiential storyboards were officially commissioned and blessed at the Melville Street Cruise Terminal. The storyboards are designed with natural wood finishing and depict amazing pictures and text that bring awareness to cruise guests of island experiences, thereby encouraging them to book tours.

The themes include: Pure Grenada, the Spice of the Caribbean, Traditional Markets, the Town of St. George and Fort George, Grand Etang Forest Reserve, ‘Tree To Bar” Chocolates, Agri-Tourism Estates, Pure Grenada’s Award Winning Rums and Beaches and Protected Areas. Conducting the ceremonial blessing was Fr. Charles Dominique, Parish Priest of our Lady of the Rosary of Fatima Catholic Church, St. Paul’s.

Speaking at the official commissioning ceremony, Manager for Nautical Development at the Grenada Tourism Authority (GTA), Nikoyan Roberts said, “These storyboards feature a myriad of quality, safe, amazing attractions outside of St. George’s. They are a strategic call to action for cruise guests to take more tours and be a part of the many ‘wow’ experiences around Grenada.”

Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation, Hon. Clarice Modeste-Curwen (pictured front row – 4th from right with public/private sector stakeholders) thanked all partners for their contributions to the project. She further stated, “The storyboards integrate our fine, quality product offerings into the view and attention of global cruise guests. We look forward to more visitors taking tours to visit all our attractions in Grenada, Carriacou & Petite Martinique.”

The installation of the storyboards is a major component of the Cruise Guest Experience Consultancy, a public/private sector partnership. In 2017, following a visit by the Florida Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA) President & senior executives from Carnival Cruise Lines & Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd, Grenada’s Minister for Tourism commissioned the project aimed at improving the Pure Grenada cruise guest experience and cruise visitor volume.

The public/private sector partnership included: the Ministries of Tourism and Infrastructural Development, Grenada Tourism Authority, Royal Grenada Police Force, Grenada Ports Authority, Grenada Cultural Foundation, Grenada National Museum, George F. Huggins & Co. Ltd., Belmont Estate, Best of Grenada Ltd., the National Taxi Association, Caribbean Horizons, River Antoine Estate, Tropical Charms and Adventure Jeep Tours.
