airberlin is strengthening its expertise in the growing markets of North America, Central America and South America with the appointment of Titus Johnson. Johnson was named Vice President Sales & Marketing for the newly founded Air Berlin Americas Inc. which is based in New York. In this newly created position, Johnson will be responsible for all of airberlin’s commercial activity in America and will report to Mats Jacobsson, Vice President International Sales airberlin.

Titus Johnson has been working for airberlin since 2006, most recently in the role of Country Manager UK & Ireland. Johnson looks back on a 20-year-long career in the airline industry, during which he has accumulated considerable experience in a range of executive roles in the areas of sales and marketing. Before joining airberlin, Johnson was Airline Sales Director for Sabre.

airberlin is continuing to steadily expand its presence in North America. The airline’s route network includes the cities of New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Miami, Fort Myers and Vancouver in Canada. From May 2012 Las Vegas will be a new destination with two flights per week from airberlin’s hub in Dusseldorf. From the summer, airberlin will also increase the number of flights per week offered on the routes from New York to Berlin, and San Francisco and Miami to Dusseldorf. From Berlin and Dusseldorf customers have access to numerous connections to further destinations in Germany and all over Europe.
